Ten years ago an assignment into Singapore came with housing, school fees, a car, home leave and tax equalisation. Of the 31 inbound moves we handled this year, only four were on that kind of package. The rest were local-plus with a housing subsidy that steps down over two years, or plain local terms with a relocation lump sum.
Cost is the stated reason. I also suspect the business no longer sees a hub posting as a hardship in any sense. What worries me is school fees: families are turning roles down. Are others seeing the same shift, and is anyone holding the line on education support?
