Our survey data for India has an effective date of 1 September and our structure takes effect on 1 April. I manage reward for the Bengaluru and Pune centres of a European engineering group, about 2,800 people.
The salary budget forecasts I have seen for our sector range from 9% to 10.5%, but attrition-driven movement in a few hot skills is plainly faster than that. Ageing everything at a flat 9.5% a year feels too blunt.

Budget forecasts overstate market movement of the ranges themselves, because they include promotions and corrections. We deduct about 1.5 points before using a budget figure as an ageing factor. Seven months at 8% is a more defensible number than seven months at 9.5%.
