We are a fully distributed software business. 260 people, 19 countries, entities in only four of them and the rest employed through an employer-of-record arrangement.
Staff in our entity countries have proper medical, pension and risk cover. Everyone else gets whatever the employer-of-record's standard package is, which ranges from decent to nearly nothing. People compare notes and the gap is now a regular item in our all-hands questions.
I do not think identical benefits are achievable. But I need a principle I can explain. What have others used: equal spend, equal outcome, a minimum standard, or cash in lieu?
