First job out of university: junior compensation analyst, slightly terrified

Survey submissions feel like drudgery but they are the best training there is. Every time you disagree with an existing match, write down why in one sentence. Bring three of those to your manager each month. That is speaking up, done in a way that suits a quiet person.

What I wish I had learned sooner: the numbers are never the whole answer. In Germany especially, ask early how the collective agreement and the works council shape what your team can and cannot change. It explains decisions that otherwise look strange in the data.
