We have reported our UK gap every year since the regulations came in, and the process is now routine: an April snapshot, the required figures, a narrative, done. The complication is that we also have about 900 people in Ireland and the Netherlands, so the Directive reaches us there.
As I read it, the two regimes ask different questions. The UK figures are whole-workforce means and medians, while the Directive, as our counsel explains it, looks at gaps between people doing equal work or work of equal value. I want to avoid two exercises producing numbers that seem to contradict each other. How are others with a UK and EU footprint organising this?
