I introduced myself here in the summer as a new reward adviser at a 1,600-person further education college group in Wales, and I said I would report back. This is that.
Three things made the difference. Putting our headcount and sector in every question, because the answers became specific. Asking one person from the directory for a 30-minute call, which turned into a monthly conversation. And answering a question myself in week six, on something small I happened to know about term-time contracts.
What did not help was trying to follow every space at once. I now follow two. If you joined recently and have not posted yet, I would be interested to know what is holding you back.

Useful to read, thank you. To answer your question honestly: I joined in August and have not posted because everyone else seems to know more than I do. I am a pensions administrator at a brewery in Yorkshire who has been asked to help with pay. Reading that you answered something in week six is encouraging.

To the reply above: you have just posted, and a pensions administrator moving towards pay will find plenty of company in this space. Ask the first thing you are unsure about.
As for the original post, the point about including headcount and sector is one I wish every new member read.

I remember your introduction. For newer members, I would add one thing to the list: come back to your own threads and say what happened. It is the reason people keep answering, and you have just done it.
