I start on Monday as a reward analyst at a 4,000-person engineering consultancy in Leeds. It is my second job; I spent two years as an HR data analyst at a hospital trust, so I know reporting but very little about reward itself.
The head of reward has put a 45-minute one-to-one in my diary for day two and asked me to bring questions. I do not want to waste it on things I could find on the intranet.
What would you ask if you were me? And what would you, as a manager, be pleased to be asked?

As a manager, I am pleased by three questions. What does the reward calendar look like over the next 12 months and where is the team stretched? Which decisions get made using our analysis and who makes them? What would you like me to be able to do alone by month three? The answers tell you what to learn first.
And ask to see the last pay review file. With your reporting background you will have observations within the week.
